Learn Something New Every Day

Shimelle's online course Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED) started yesterday (and of course I'm already one day behind!! I blame it on the time difference. :P ). I'm not quite sure what I'm in for, but I hope it will be fun and insightful!

I'm actually a bit confused as to what I'm supposed to be doing, but I don't think that there is a right or wrong way to do this. I guess I just have to document something that I've learned on each of the 30 days in September. No doubt this will be very enlightening! It will also follow on from what I've learned through completing a few of the Big Picture Scrapbooking courses in that I very rarely scrap about something that's important or scrap a special story/memory. Doing LSNED will hopefully change that!

What did I learn on this first day? I learned (well, more like had the fact confirmed) that relationships are hard work.

Some relationships happen naturally and are smooth sailing all the way, but others you really need to work at. If one side of the relationship is more needy or more selfish than the other side, then it becomes even harder. I've been on both sides of the coin and neither side is very pleasant.

In the end, is it all worth the pain and agony? Is the relationship worth saving if it's that hard to maintain? Or you just let go and move on?

What do you think?

*hugs*

we are selfish beings befre anything else - and sometimes we want to be affirmed whether we deserve it or not. personally, i know i would be single if i didnt think some relationships were worth fighting for. not that i fought 'with' my spouse - rather fought 'for' our relationship - against a lot of other factors. its hard to know with friends whether we make the right choices and sometimes it easier to walk away - luckily when there comes a time like that - sometimes the newest friends can be just around the corner... or down the hall
