Thankful Thursdays

Today I'm thankful for the ease and umpteen means with which we can communicate with one another now. You can call someone on a telephone or mobile phone or Skype; you can send someone an SMS or email or even a hand-written letter (remember those?!?); you can message someone on Facebook; you can leave a comment on a blog; you can chat via ICU (or other chat programmes); you can chat and post messages on forums . . . the list is endless!

Communication is not just restricted to the local neighbourhood either, but encompasses interstate as well as global family and friends. My mind boggles at how small our world has now become due to the simple act of making communications easier to access.

What are you thankful for today?

*hugs*

I couldn't agree with you more, it proves that in this day and age, there really is no reason not to keep in touch with people. Saying all that though, it's nice to have a little "down time" :)

And you'll be even more grateful for this when the baby comes - I would loved a bit of the outside world through the internet when I was looking after mine!

I am thankful for the fact that I can come on here and shut out the 'real' world for a little while.

I've been Skypeing with my son this evening - better than texts (I'm SO slow) and cheaper than the mobile (as in, it's free, the mobile/phone isn't). He's not far away (and I fetch him home tomorrow) but I am pleased we can talk without him queueing for a public phone like I had to when I was away at uni. Much easier (not to mention more private!).
