I hope you had a wonderful time over Christmas and enjoyed the New Year festivities! We had a very busy time making several trips down and back up the Mountain for shopping and other various events. Jasmine's first Christmas was very enjoyable though. We even made an effort to put up our little tree and some Christmas lights on the front of the house as well. It certainly felt a lot more festive than last year where I didn't feel like celebrating much at all as I was pregnant and sick! Not that any of the celebrations and decorations mean much to Jasmine for now, but hopefully in years to come she will understand what all the fuss is about. :D<br />
<br />
This month sees Jasmine's six month milestone. Six months already, WOW!!<br />

At 6 months, Jasmine:</span><br />
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Weighs 7.5kg, length 65cm. She has grown heaps just in the last week or so and is definitely looking very chubby, especially her chunky thunder thighs!! So cute though! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Went through a very unsettled month (since last post) of disturbed sleeping. She wouldn't self-settle and would wake up after the first sleep cycle and needed help to get back to sleep. This was not just during the day, but all night too. :'( However, this week has been HEAPS better. She has not whinged at all or only slightly when we've put her down for naps and to bed at night. AND she has been falling asleep all by herself, without me having to rock her to sleep. Yay! For three nights now she has slept 6+ hours non-stop and it has been bliss! I do feel much more human again after getting at least a solid 6 hours of sleep.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-q5O9Q6SMhUQ/TwV8geO2G8I/AAAAAAAABGU/H0hLW2emW-Y/s800/SideSleeping.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-q5O9Q6SMhUQ/TwV8geO2G8I/AAAAAAAABGU/H0hLW2emW-Y/s800/SideSleeping.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is starting to sleep on her side, often in an "L" position. She now moves a lot in her sleep and last night she even managed to turn herself right around in the cot so that she was facing the opposite direction in which we put her into it!!!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Still wearing size 00 clothing. All her size 000 clothing is getting a little tight, but she's still managing to fit into some items, so I'm trying to get as much mileage as I can from those ones! I hope the warmer weather (that we're only getting now!) would stick around so she can wear all her lovely summer clothes before she grows out of them!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-rMc0Eyiw67M/TwV8l_5RtoI/AAAAAAAABHg/1wGsxk3N-5k/s800/XmasElf.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-rMc0Eyiw67M/TwV8l_5RtoI/AAAAAAAABHg/1wGsxk3N-5k/s800/XmasElf.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Had the cutest little outfit to wear for Christmas! Even though it was her first Christmas, she didn't get spoilt, although she did get all the presents and we got none!! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-LJLZf4hV5AY/TwV8fXWyCpI/AAAAAAAABGM/R89gfyzDC4E/s800/JollyJumper01.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-LJLZf4hV5AY/TwV8fXWyCpI/AAAAAAAABGM/R89gfyzDC4E/s800/JollyJumper01.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Received a Jolly Jumper from us for Christmas. She still hasn't mastered the bouncing just yet and just shuffles her feet a bit and lets the Jolly Jumper spin her around and around. LOL She does bounce when she flexes her legs, so hopefully she will learn to do that purposefully!!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FAfDMb21t2Q/TwWPNxrm7xI/AAAAAAAABIQ/vWrWzkJ6z-U/s800/PlayCtr02.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FAfDMb21t2Q/TwWPNxrm7xI/AAAAAAAABIQ/vWrWzkJ6z-U/s800/PlayCtr02.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ERS5BbIpG00/TwWPNGWYc_I/AAAAAAAABII/iPLK65bsIo8/s800/PlayCtr01.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ERS5BbIpG00/TwWPNGWYc_I/AAAAAAAABII/iPLK65bsIo8/s800/PlayCtr01.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Also received a Baby Einstein play center from us for Christmas. (Both this and the Jolly Jumper were brought second hand - awesome eBay bargains - which saved us a lot of money!) She can sit in the play center for about 10 minutes max before getting bored. It's hard to keep this girl entertained!! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is very "talkative", but not really using word sounds as yet. Still very much baby babble... and lots of screeches. Can someone send me earplugs?!?<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-wtTDpCOR8yc/TwV8jRuVwPI/AAAAAAAABHA/4AD5XyfASvw/s800/StartingSolids.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-wtTDpCOR8yc/TwV8jRuVwPI/AAAAAAAABHA/4AD5XyfASvw/s800/StartingSolids.jpg" width=500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Started eating solids. We started her off on a little bit of rice cereal mixed with formula and so far has tried avocado, sweet potato and zucchini. She has really taken to eating solids and loves it! Her little mouth opens wide when she sees the spoon coming and she finishes all that she's given. I just hope this eating compliance lasts through until toddler years!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R8h1-p80aGA/TwV8heg5jhI/AAAAAAAABGg/x548av-803M/s800/SipperCup.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R8h1-p80aGA/TwV8heg5jhI/AAAAAAAABGg/x548av-803M/s800/SipperCup.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tried using a sipper cup, but I found she drinks better from a normal cup, so the sipper cup sits unused whilst she often drinks from my cup! :(<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is now feeding the maximum recommended volume of formula I can give her - a full 210mL. I'm going to have to increase the frequency of her solids if she demands more!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FjLfbU-J0Tw/TwV8drPDFUI/AAAAAAAABF8/MbfdTHCn-IQ/s800/Bushwalk.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FjLfbU-J0Tw/TwV8drPDFUI/AAAAAAAABF8/MbfdTHCn-IQ/s800/Bushwalk.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Had her first bushwalk in the carrier we brought (another eBay bargain!), which she had no problems with. She obviously felt very comfortable in it as she slept for most of the walk we did!!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-3gbKWO41ihhRhZFauqDYOJH6QRuktvosmsw4XJzkgEb9m-moZJIt3XGRMjz3ZjGIaFRMb4iME5rrH3uWjo8uSYC70eKA49oPNPXC4iwnJZmH3noq9ZNIZRQsTpzXs7b6tiVVeDjW9JQ/s800/Volleys.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-3gbKWO41ihhRhZFauqDYOJH6QRuktvosmsw4XJzkgEb9m-moZJIt3XGRMjz3ZjGIaFRMb4iME5rrH3uWjo8uSYC70eKA49oPNPXC4iwnJZmH3noq9ZNIZRQsTpzXs7b6tiVVeDjW9JQ/s800/Volleys.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has a pair of pink baby Volleys!!!! So cute! :D<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Can now sit up for quite a while without any assistance, but sometimes she still loses her balances and falls over, especially if she's looking behind her or is concentrating really hard on a toy. LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qp4XAg5RkOk/TwV8k6xoCRI/AAAAAAAABHY/mTxsI8D4An4/s800/Trolley.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qp4XAg5RkOk/TwV8k6xoCRI/AAAAAAAABHY/mTxsI8D4An4/s800/Trolley.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Got to ride in a normal shopping trolley since she can sit so well now. We had no issues on that [one and only so far] shopping trip, although she did want to grab everything I put in the trolley and wouldn't let up until I gave her a plastic bag to play with! Good thing she didn't mouth the trolley - can't imagine all the germs on it!!!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
</ul><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Finally, as per usual, just a few more photos to finish off with. :D<br />

After two months of lots and lots of changes, her development has now slowed down. We're finding that she is refining what she's already learned rather than developing any new skills. Routine has gone out the window and every day is "your guess is as good as mine" as to what's going to happen during the day!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-sY7bpKuzFO8/Tty2JVEki3I/AAAAAAAABDk/VPJskpPSd6Q/s800/05%252520Months.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-sY7bpKuzFO8/Tty2JVEki3I/AAAAAAAABDk/VPJskpPSd6Q/s800/05%252520Months.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><br />
At 5 months, Jasmine:</span><br />
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Weighs 6.8kg and is 65cm in length at best guess! I haven't been to the Community Health Center to get her measured as yet.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has been testing her vocal chords and voice range. Unfortunately, she seems to be favouring the high pitches and shrieking is her favourite noise at the moment.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is learning how to self-settle herself to sleep. So far so good, but unfortunately, the hour or two of sleep she gets during the day (and at least 8-10 hours through the night) is often preceded by 12 mins of whinging and screaming. :( The whinging I can live with but the screaming is very unsettling. Ear plugs anyone?!? Very rare is the time when I can put her down and she goes off to sleep with a few soft whinges. It happens, but is very rare!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6zNMC2QcSvY/Tty2R0iH4vI/AAAAAAAABE8/KKARG9M4vHs/s800/Sleeping%252520w%252520foot.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6zNMC2QcSvY/Tty2R0iH4vI/AAAAAAAABE8/KKARG9M4vHs/s800/Sleeping%252520w%252520foot.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Often goes to sleep as in the above photo - with foot in hand! She does eventually let go of her foot to lie properly. LOL (BTW, the above photo is a screen shot from our "surveillance camera" aka baby video monitor. :D )<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is definitely a Mountain baby as she doesn't like the heat. She normally generates quite a lot of heat (for such a small body!), but we've had a few days and nights where the bedroom temperature has been over 25C and she can't sleep, having only short naps during the day and waking almost every hour through the night. We don't have an air-conditioner in the bedroom, although it has been very tempting - at least for us to be able to get a good night sleep!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-lLwiaEBhi2M/Tty2NSkA26I/AAAAAAAABEU/Ilx4LjV9jZM/s800/Jasmine%252526Daddy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-lLwiaEBhi2M/Tty2NSkA26I/AAAAAAAABEU/Ilx4LjV9jZM/s800/Jasmine%252526Daddy.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is learning to use her hands now and reaching out to touch or grab everything within reach. Including daddy. :D<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Still comp feeding. I haven't tried her on solids yet as she is watching us eat, but doesn't really seem interested when I give her any food or even a spoon. I'll probably wait another two weeks or so and try again.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-5bAUs6pYIVo/Tty2Ta8aKcI/AAAAAAAABFQ/zkRuJ_K2WUU/s800/Tummytime.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-5bAUs6pYIVo/Tty2Ta8aKcI/AAAAAAAABFQ/zkRuJ_K2WUU/s800/Tummytime.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is finally starting to enjoy tummy time. As long as she's distracted with a mirror or a toy or me lying in front of her. Average length of tummy time is still only 1-2 mins, although there have been a few 5 min sessions. Yay!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has stopped rolling all the way over and is now only rolling onto her side and then back again. When she is lying down, she does have a habit of bending her head and shoulders around. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with her learning to roll?!?<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-v4Ytk_dGq18/Tty2TdFy_CI/AAAAAAAABFI/295Be0YKrS0/s800/ToeSucking.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-v4Ytk_dGq18/Tty2TdFy_CI/AAAAAAAABFI/295Be0YKrS0/s800/ToeSucking.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Likes to suck on her toes! LOL I keep trying to get a photo of this, but everytime she sees the camera, she drops her foot. :(<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">She's still halfway between 000 and 00 clothing. Some of the 000 is now too small to wear, but some of the 00 is still too big!! Just a matter of trial and error and ear-marking those outfits that she can fit into.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jujwkmZir1w/Tty2Oy9bqHI/AAAAAAAABEc/TpQ3W2vkgZI/s800/Mouthing.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jujwkmZir1w/Tty2Oy9bqHI/AAAAAAAABEc/TpQ3W2vkgZI/s800/Mouthing.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is still putting everything into her mouth, and thoroughly enjoying it!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Can sit up by herself for all of 3 seconds, but mainly on grass, as she did this the two times I was out at a park, but she hasn't been able to do it at home yet!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-BJ9hSubjjKw/Tty2LX0MYKI/AAAAAAAABD8/zVAlpXnzbV8/s800/FirstShoes.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-BJ9hSubjjKw/Tty2LX0MYKI/AAAAAAAABD8/zVAlpXnzbV8/s800/FirstShoes.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Got to wear her first pair of shoes. Aren't they cute?!?<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is starting to look towards the source of a sound. Not necessarily when we talk to or call her, but other sounds like when I'm filling up a glass or when the dogs bark. At least I know there's nothing wrong with her hearing!<br />

So much has happened in the past month. Lots of "firsts", lots of developmental changes, and lots of getting out and socialising! She has well and truly moved away from the Newborn stage and is starting to fill out and look much older. I think it's the hair. :D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-nq0f12_kSSw/TrUl177oK9I/AAAAAAAAA_s/IkOZqZLs-JQ/s800/04%252520Months.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-nq0f12_kSSw/TrUl177oK9I/AAAAAAAAA_s/IkOZqZLs-JQ/s800/04%252520Months.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><br />
At 4 months, Jasmine:</span><br />
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Weighs just over 6.5kg and is 64cm in length. She is definitely starting to look AND feel much bigger!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhloYv0lIJGvbXxOntlWtCSUMz3a7xoiIo-bkk_niTvWC67dMXJ_SA9dzLCWxIATfSDFhJ9Lzcyj-Ot-oqTPoShvXGMcq650HzigC7szMYQcDgim7sX_ZBcc3kfKOGUU4AEp8h4HbNgBQ8/s800/Cot01.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhloYv0lIJGvbXxOntlWtCSUMz3a7xoiIo-bkk_niTvWC67dMXJ_SA9dzLCWxIATfSDFhJ9Lzcyj-Ot-oqTPoShvXGMcq650HzigC7szMYQcDgim7sX_ZBcc3kfKOGUU4AEp8h4HbNgBQ8/s800/Cot01.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL0tKi_qYxa_hLx2yZM7vBxrFN29Y64vDinL3Z-xd11zw8Fi4jA_KpSidkCn0VpwsqeBo57CjEFUxLMhG-vaTZc0p95zWJxuYUNYqOB6kkMZuZCmFtua53WUDV6TrF9rUAGIoikXOZn7A/s800/Cot02.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL0tKi_qYxa_hLx2yZM7vBxrFN29Y64vDinL3Z-xd11zw8Fi4jA_KpSidkCn0VpwsqeBo57CjEFUxLMhG-vaTZc0p95zWJxuYUNYqOB6kkMZuZCmFtua53WUDV6TrF9rUAGIoikXOZn7A/s800/Cot02.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has finally been moved into her cot! Only this week did we set up the cot knowing that she was almost getting squashed in the bassinet!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Babbles a lot now, especially upon waking first thing in the morning. She can lie in her cot and babble away until she realises that no one is paying her any attention and then she starts to whinge! In her swing seat, she will babble away at the mobile hanging above her and does the same thing when she's lying on her playmat - she will babble away at the toys I've strung up above her. The babbling is soooo cute and is often punctuated by one or two very loud "words", causing us to wonder what on earth she's telling off or if she's trying to get the attention of the toy (or us?!?)!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0dLcyFT8DIN8qoBUjQx1IU_PQT2OELCVMp3QPtr3oUSgIL9kgXl-F2TelGw88IUcVc_o3LuhcVKi5WCaRir37EQOE_Jkj0kd96BA2WIys58NF1Y3awof6js847ZSexxiaBVPwi1R8rhU/s800/FirstRattle.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0dLcyFT8DIN8qoBUjQx1IU_PQT2OELCVMp3QPtr3oUSgIL9kgXl-F2TelGw88IUcVc_o3LuhcVKi5WCaRir37EQOE_Jkj0kd96BA2WIys58NF1Y3awof6js847ZSexxiaBVPwi1R8rhU/s800/FirstRattle.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Played with her first rattle. The first time she did shake it around although I think it was more from just flailing her arm around rather than any intended shaking of the rattle. LOL Still, it was awesome to watch her discover this new object!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm still comp feeding and thankfully she is still taking both breast and bottle. However, her bottle feeding has been all over the place this past month. We're never sure just how much to feed her as her bottle feeds can now be anywhere between 140mL and 210mL. There doesn't seem to be any consistency anymore which gets confusing for us as we never know how much formula to prepare! She can be fussy with the bottle too - if the bottle is removed for any reason before she's finished or had enough, she will refuse point blank to continue with that bottle or any other bottle. If she's finished the bottle and still wants more, she will also refuse to take another bottle preferring to suck her hands and whinge than to take another bottle!?!?!!! I hope this isn't a precursor to her being fussy with solids! :O<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-YiUC5awn8Mg/TrUl7bWXijI/AAAAAAAABAs/_iBoT0thAhk/s800/Gymbaroo.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-YiUC5awn8Mg/TrUl7bWXijI/AAAAAAAABAs/_iBoT0thAhk/s800/Gymbaroo.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Started classes at Gymbaroo (a kindygym) and loves it. I also love it (it's lots of fun!) and learned other ways to give her "tummy time" so that she tolerates it (I’ve still yet to get her to ENJOY it! LOL).<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Following on from above, she has now learned to roll from her tummy onto her back. Frustrating for me as that means she can get out of tummy time by herself just by flipping over. The surprised look on her face when she realises she's just rolled over all by herself is really cute!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-tNtB6zzusos/TrUl3vUefUI/AAAAAAAABAE/uvPQvf4vlLk/s800/CaughtToesies.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-tNtB6zzusos/TrUl3vUefUI/AAAAAAAABAE/uvPQvf4vlLk/s800/CaughtToesies.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has discovered her feet and likes to grab hold of her toes when lying down.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has graduated to wearing size 00 clothing! Some size 000 still fits but is getting a little tight. It's starting to get warm enough now that she can wear her summer outfits and boy does she look cute in her summer rompers!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-DNZv7Y2Z-3w/TrUl9huNdpI/AAAAAAAABBM/mNCvPnWfamY/s800/Reading.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-DNZv7Y2Z-3w/TrUl9huNdpI/AAAAAAAABBM/mNCvPnWfamY/s800/Reading.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Was read her first book and loved it! The book has pop up animal faces in it and she really enjoys reading it.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Still going through one bib a day! The drooling hasn't stopped... yet!<br />
<br />

The Mountain Buggy handles the "off-road" terrain around here much better than the other pram we bought, giving her a much smoother ride. The other pram (Phil & Ted Smart) will still be the everyday use pram for use in "city" situations, ie. smooth paving or shopping centres.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">During the week of 15-21 October, she had a lot of firsts:</span></li>
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">First holiday away - we went to Culburra Beach and even took the furkids. That was much easier than we had anticipated!<br />
<br />
</span></li>

<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">First time in a cot! The place we stayed in had a travel cot available for use. She slept in the cot without any problems. :D (We're still kicking ourselves that we didn't get any photos of this. :( )<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">First time seeing whales! We saw lots of them and she would have too if she'd been able to see that far out to sea and actually know what she was looking at! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">First stay in a luxury hotel. We stayed in the Hilton Hotel for our Tenth Wedding Anniversary on the 20th and boy was that AWESOME!! (Again we're kicking ourselves that we didn't get any photos of her in the hotel cot. Put it down to being awestruck at being in one of the best rooms in the Hilton!)<br />

It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm sorry this blog has been a bit neglected. I've been out and about quite a lot lately in an effort to keep the "black dog" at bay. So far so good. When I AM at home, I'm feeding Jasmine or playing with her or trying to settle her because she doesn't want to sleep, or finally giving up and sleeping with her. That pretty much makes up about 90% of my day. The other 10% of my day comprises of feeding myself, a quick half hour or so online, cooking the evening meal and other things that would be TMI! So therefore this blog, other blog reading, forums, the numerous online scrapping/ card-making classes that I was insane to enrol in, household chores etc. have all fallen by the wayside and long since disappeared from the rear-view mirror!<br />
<br />
But enough about that. It's that time already to give you an update on my precious little girl. Can you believe we've already hit the 3 month milestone (on Wednesday to be exact, as this post is a bit late. :D)?!?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAC86xq1b0NLS_-5GQl_TsAIYau42MvtZzBc0rMpXcHrwgsYsFsXFGAmz7hpvYcsCFnSPoNPJUyzR8tMQtwKV0GEAiNaeDh-mzFnxHxNaEyGjrLxh7C4jK0GXUeh36hHoEzB7gSNKU3nY/s800/03%252520Months.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAC86xq1b0NLS_-5GQl_TsAIYau42MvtZzBc0rMpXcHrwgsYsFsXFGAmz7hpvYcsCFnSPoNPJUyzR8tMQtwKV0GEAiNaeDh-mzFnxHxNaEyGjrLxh7C4jK0GXUeh36hHoEzB7gSNKU3nY/s800/03%252520Months.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><br />
At 3 months, Jasmine:</span><br />
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Weighs just over 6kg and is 60cm in length.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Likes to talk to mummy and daddy (who she had a great conversation with one day!), although her goos and gaas are few and prefers to be talked TO rather than doing the talking. We were ecstatic when during one conversation she actually copied one of our "ah goo's" - only that one time, but once was enough to make us happy! :D<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-WAWkZ9HYL3g/To2AbdXjZzI/AAAAAAAAA94/HJS3Da4FY-Y/s800/J-Hand.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-WAWkZ9HYL3g/To2AbdXjZzI/AAAAAAAAA94/HJS3Da4FY-Y/s800/J-Hand.jpg" width="350" /></a><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-X8jvRrpCexc/To2AXvPqosI/AAAAAAAAA9g/NyptK1FZvIY/s800/Jasmine%252526Mummy.jpg

" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is starting to notice her hands more, and finding that they're great for stuffing in the mouth when tired, hungry or just because!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Sleeps through the night now, at least 6 hours. Yay!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Still feeds roughly every 4 hours, although some feeds have stretched to 6 hours. I'm still supplementing, and she's drinking between 130-150mL of formula. For the past two weeks or so she's been a bit fussy and not wanting to take the bottle from daddy which means that mummy now has to do all the feeding. :( Neither of us are happy about that, but we don't have much choice really!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjslDybQ0WQRiMut4JGMXivjOunlLmcd-rb6oxrzNP5MuL5F2jlvpyytEFR2DVLrW4NV6rvYV0VPvItIRjL4XvwV0ro8RjmQ1AoC63xlhOuvZ__-VeBiKphyr4ZZBCUyV2fV6-AAfWv-E/s800/Jasmine-Sleeping.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjslDybQ0WQRiMut4JGMXivjOunlLmcd-rb6oxrzNP5MuL5F2jlvpyytEFR2DVLrW4NV6rvYV0VPvItIRjL4XvwV0ro8RjmQ1AoC63xlhOuvZ__-VeBiKphyr4ZZBCUyV2fV6-AAfWv-E/s800/Jasmine-Sleeping.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has big smiles when mummy and/or daddy come into view and can now watch and follow us from across the room. I'm still baffled at what she smiles at in her sleep or when attached to the breast! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Still doesn't like tummy time, although if I catch her at just the right time, she will tolerate it for longer than 30 seconds. I even tried putting a folded up muslin wrap underneath her chest, but she still didn't like it. However, despite not having a lot of tummy time, she surprised us one day by lifting her head up to almost 90 degrees. Yay! We think it's because we give her "tummy time" in other ways such as carrying her on our shoulders a lot or putting her across our legs.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjhEnmEJdrNX_3TaRRlDu0BWtS2WPuAwoEnzT925op0_vBNVn06urjQozz19DmvNwSI4kL3e-LuAWhQKOkIpKJhiJrvXjvwH85vbOjcggxutFJk9kdhhJfocKahh9bsj5esJv38GjHe0g/s800/J-Pram01.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjhEnmEJdrNX_3TaRRlDu0BWtS2WPuAwoEnzT925op0_vBNVn06urjQozz19DmvNwSI4kL3e-LuAWhQKOkIpKJhiJrvXjvwH85vbOjcggxutFJk9kdhhJfocKahh9bsj5esJv38GjHe0g/s800/J-Pram01.jpg" width="350" /></a><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-trASuw4ekBc/To2AZTWhkWI/AAAAAAAAA9s/Stah3zT2f6Q/s800/J-Pram02.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-trASuw4ekBc/To2AZTWhkWI/AAAAAAAAA9s/Stah3zT2f6Q/s800/J-Pram02.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has been sleeping in the pram bassinet at home, but had her first outing in the pram seat. She doesn't love it, but is happy to sit in it. It gives her the opportunity to look around and take in all the sights rather than just staring at mummy or daddy's chest when strapped in the carrier. She's had two full days in the pram now (we visited the Better Homes & Gardens Show and the Baby & Toddler Show) and was happy to sleep in the pram most of the time. People think that because the seat is molded plastic, that it's uncomfortable, but if she can sleep in it, I don't think it would be that uncomfortable otherwise she'd let us know!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has graduated to wearing size 000 clothing. Onsies are still the staple outfit!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-w92sqePylZ0/To2Kl6RPw8I/AAAAAAAAA-c/Gqe89DHd7qo/s800/J-Bubbles.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-w92sqePylZ0/To2Kl6RPw8I/AAAAAAAAA-c/Gqe89DHd7qo/s800/J-Bubbles.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Goes through at least one bib a day - such a drool monster!! Not sure about all the bubble blowing though...<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-r_bx_HATzv0/To2AXu1FWkI/AAAAAAAAA9k/LUt_ghqeW4Q/s800/Jasmine%252526Daddy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-r_bx_HATzv0/To2AXu1FWkI/AAAAAAAAA9k/LUt_ghqeW4Q/s800/Jasmine%252526Daddy.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Likes to be placed in the carrier looking out now, but we swap her around again when she gets tired of all that looking around and wants to sleep.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is only just starting to swipe at objects hanging in front of her, and also learning to grab/hold objects in her hand. The very first time she grabbed an object was a bit of a laugh, as it just happened to be a mushroom off daddy's plate one morning at breakfast! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is very animated. Her hands are always moving and kicking is a favourite exercise, especially on the change table.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-r_s129wU9vw/To2AcSmVtmI/AAAAAAAAA-E/j1iTZxPUa88/s800/J-BallPit.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-r_s129wU9vw/To2AcSmVtmI/AAAAAAAAA-E/j1iTZxPUa88/s800/J-BallPit.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Had her first play in a ball pit, although I'm not sure she really enjoyed it all that much! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
</ul><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We're well and truly passed the Newborn stage and her development is starting to ramp up. Whereas she was changing weekly during her Newborn months, she's now changing almost daily! I'm not sure I can keep up! LOL<br />
<br />
I'll leave you with a couple of really cute photos. :D</span><br />

I love the laidback atmosphere where you can sometimes feel isolated, but also part of the community if you want. Then of course there is the gorgeous natural landscapes. Although extremely prone to bushfires, the area is still lovely to live in and explore. Then there is the Three Sisters (in the photo above and perhaps one day I'll tell you the story behind these three rock formations) - possibly the most famous landmark of the area. I'm thankful for the fact that I live in such a beautiful part of Australia.<br />

We've had the feeling that Jasmine has been fussy and unsettled (especially during the afternoons) due to the fact that she's been missing daddy now that he's back at work. Well, perhaps today (and the past weekend) had confirmed that as she has hasn't had her afternoon fussy period and has been reasonably content. I think only time can fix this one particular issue. And possibly a very healthy dose of patience!!!</span> <br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
(Sorry if this post today sounds disjointed and/or not completely comprehensible. Lack of sleep and a currently grumpy Jasmine has frazzled me a bit and my brain doesn't seem to be working. I know it's silly, but I'm kind of stressed out that I didn't get this post up on Thursday - as it's just gone midnight now. Really it shouldn't matter in the scheme of things, and no doubt I'll (hopefully) forget all about it tomorrow, after the post is up anyway!)<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It's been a few crazy days around here, so I have four days of LSNED lessons to catch up on! Here goes:<br />
<br />
<b>Day 11</b> - I learned today that you spend <a href="http://www.omg-facts.com/view/Facts/43322" target="_blank">40 minutes a day blind</a>! In my case that would probably be more if you count the minutes when I'm not wearing my glasses. LOL It's called "Saccadic masking" - our brain creating a "mask" or illusion so that we don't get motion blur from when our eyes are moving around. This is also called the "stopped-clock illusion", when the first second on a clock after you turn to look at it appears to take longer than all the other seconds. Check out the video <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/vsauce#p/u/4/nNBTLbw1_2Q" target="-blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Useless trivia or cool scientific fact?!? LOL<br />
<br />
<b>Day 12</b> - I learned that with the current routine I'm in (feed bubby, put bubby to sleep, eat something, sit down to rest for a teeny bit, bubby wakes, change nappy - repeat sequence), some days there just really isn't that much to learn. :/<br />
<br />
<b>Day 13</b> - I've been reading through <a href="http://www.smartphowned.com" target="_blank">SmartphOWNED</a>, <a href="http://www.memestache.com/" target="_blank">Memestache</a> and <a href="http://www.tasteofawesome.com" target="_blank">Taste of Awesome</a> and consequently I've learned a whole bunch of new slang words (in addition to being thoroughly entertained). Not that I'd use them in normal conversation, but they're interesting to know!<br />
<br />
<b>Day 14</b> - I learned that you can buy awesome things like <a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/geek-kids/3-7-years/c132/" target="_blank">Lego cameras</a>, <a href="http://www.igeektrooper.com/2011/02/star-wars-ice-tray/" target="_blank">Star Wars ice trays</a> or these <a href="http://store.yankodesign.com/mood-mugs" target="_blank">Mood Mugs</a>, as opposed to "what-on-earth?!?" items like <a href="http://www.e-mancipate.net/" target="_blank">Mantyhose</a> (pantyhose for guys?!?), <a href="http://www.mcphee.com/shop/products/Bacon-Toothpaste.html" target="_blank">bacon flavoured toothpaste</a>, or a <a href="http://www.stupid.com/toilet-mug.html" target="_blank">toilet mug</a>! What will they think of next?!?! LOL</span> <br />

Unfortunately I missed the festival this year as I had to attend an ante-natal class, so that was quite disappointing. However, I've created a very simple scrapbook layout outlining ten awesome things about the festival:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/winhua/6132443637/" title="WinterMagicFestivalAwesomeness_Lrg by WinHua, on Flickr" target="_blank"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6206/6132443637_cc0bef811f.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="WinterMagicFestivalAwesomeness"></a><br />
<span style="font-size: xx-small; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><i>Credits: Background pp from In The Groove by Shabby Shoppe; Fonts - Kingthings Petrock, Wendy Medium. <br />
This layout was also created as part of the My Album of Awesome Big Picture Class.</i></span></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">You can click to enlarge, however, here are the ten awesome things:</span><br />
<ol><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The Grand Parade<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The exciting festival atmosphere<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The amazing and varied market stalls<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The diverse and delicious food stalls<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The entertaining street performers<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The infectious Samba music and dancing<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The interesting costumes<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The huge crowds<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The colourfulness of everything!<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The awesome fireworks ending an absolutely awesome day!<br />
</span></li>
</ol><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hopefully I'll be able to make it to next year's festival and show you lots more awesome pictures! :D</span> <br />

<a href="http://www.huggies.com.au/assets/0000/1384/Newborn_Fade_When_Wet.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.huggies.com.au/assets/0000/1384/Newborn_Fade_When_Wet.gif" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We finally used up all the Huggies Newborn size nappies yesterday and started using some Aldi Infant ones as there is a bit of a gap with the Huggies ones from Newborn (up to 5kg) to Crawler (6-11kg) size (plus they're a bit cheaper than Huggies!). The Aldi ones have nothing printed on them whatsoever and I realised today that I miss seeing the wetness indicator strip on the Huggies nappies (I also miss the really cute Pooh Bear graphics, but that's another story altogether. LOL). And that brings me to today's lesson: I found out that the wetness indicator strip only appears on the Newborn nappies and none of the other sizes. Darn - that's a good invention as it means I don't have to go rooting around in her nappy to see how wet it is! LOL<br />
<br />
Finding out all these small things about baby products is quite amusing. Never in my life would I have imagined making such a fuss over a nappy "wetness indicator". LOL<br />
<br />
Have you learned anything amusing lately or is there something in your life that you find amusing right now?<br />

It means so much to me and I'm glad it's normal to feel awful some days! Today was much, much better and I learned quite a few things today. :D<br />
<br />
* I learned today that the same situation can turn out to be a hugely different experience for different people. I went to the first New Parents group meet today and we talked about our birth experiences. Each and every story was different and unique - some went through absolute nightmare labours, while others had a totally trouble free labour (like mine).</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_JWF50RZA_p1_ENFt5IQbfo3QEpdD2Vi8OUUyXY2t18JCIdQAc7MkgJcKR4XytNRx4FZ3WWfIoP0BiPhNN5a8KU9Es5x-wK2god7PCMjHnRja_tshBSFbzeU37UYtoHnLg6-ds6XS65s/s800/Day09-JasmineCafe.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_JWF50RZA_p1_ENFt5IQbfo3QEpdD2Vi8OUUyXY2t18JCIdQAc7MkgJcKR4XytNRx4FZ3WWfIoP0BiPhNN5a8KU9Es5x-wK2god7PCMjHnRja_tshBSFbzeU37UYtoHnLg6-ds6XS65s/s800/Day09-JasmineCafe.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">* I learned today that it IS possible for me to go out alone with bubby (further than just a walk up the road) and not run into disaster upon disaster! In fact nothing much happened at all except for the fact that I actually ENJOYED the experience!!! Getting her in and out of the car and to each destination wasn't a problem, even in the rain! And just the two of us having lunch? Awesome! :D<br />
<br />
* I learned today that a cute baby really does draw lots of comments from other people. LOL<br />
<br />
* I learned today that I really should learn more about the equipment I'm using. My mobile phone has two cameras - one in front and one in back. Little did I know that the front one is used more for video conferencing and thus doesn't take good pictures at all. :( I ended up with only two usable photos (the one above being one of them). After complaining about the terrible photos to hubby, who then explained WHY they were terrible, I then remembered that our point and shoot camera was in the backpack I was carrying with me. DOH!!<br />
<br />
What a very fruitful day of learning! Maybe I should store some up of those lessons for those days when I don't learn anything. LOL Have you learned anything noteworthy today?<br />
<br />

Other days, it's almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Today is one of those latter days.<br />
<br />
However, as I started to compose this post, God made me realise that I actually have it good and all the complaints and negativity that I was going to write just all disappeared. On the whole, Jasmine really is a good baby and if on days like today she screams (not cries) for a solid hour and a half, well, that's nothing compared to some other babies. And I'm just thankful that I don't have multiple babies (sorry Ali if you're reading this!).<br />
<br />
Yes, I may be extremely exhausted.<br />
Yes, I may feel frazzled beyond belief because of her crying.<br />
Yes, I may feel like I'm at the end of my tether.<br />
But hey, I did manage to survive today and I'll be able to survive other days like it. I just needed to take a step back and be thankful how Jasmine is now for it could be a lot worse.<br />
<br />
Are you going through trying times at the moment and find it hard to be thankful? Or are you the opposite to me today and have upteen things to be thankful for?<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp2CoJJRzboizK6onPMr6mfOawvAS1TN6fIgEl1Z8Y4MI-_pqxCyVhkaEraXj2NKFSvi9akW8Bp4sAYKERTDokZFvcIuQTX5a1-JlEULeTuqNOxDWwtf3KxqZkq2LdZ41Hxnzjr4s9WeQ/s800/02%252520Months.jpg" target="_blank"><br />
<img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp2CoJJRzboizK6onPMr6mfOawvAS1TN6fIgEl1Z8Y4MI-_pqxCyVhkaEraXj2NKFSvi9akW8Bp4sAYKERTDokZFvcIuQTX5a1-JlEULeTuqNOxDWwtf3KxqZkq2LdZ41Hxnzjr4s9WeQ/s800/02%252520Months.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I must admit the past month has been more on the difficult side as Jasmine has gone through quite a bit, such as having her one month celebratory dinner (Chinese tradition), getting her first immunisation jabs, going through a couple of growth spurts, and her first week without daddy around. It has been a huge learning curve with lots of ups and downs. As expected, I'm still tired and an existing blood condition which adds to the tiredness doesn't help one little bit! So most of my time is spent in feeding Jasmine, and trying to get rest when I can.<br />
<br />
But enough about me. At 2 months, Jasmine:</span><br />
<ul><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Weighs just over 5kg (5.2kg/11.4lb) and is 56cm in length.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Still has a powerful set of lungs, although her cries have progressed from the cute newborn cries to fierce screams and more "ngaaai, ngaaai" cries. When she whinges, sometimes it almost sounds like she's trying to get our attention with a very loud "ey"! LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-adeIJr4HThQ/TmSvYHgIHrI/AAAAAAAAA5Q/XyThY1NZv5o/s800/J-Mobile.jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-adeIJr4HThQ/TmSvYHgIHrI/AAAAAAAAA5Q/XyThY1NZv5o/s800/J-Mobile.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Loves watching people talk to her. She hasn't quite mastered the art of responding with coos or gaas just yet, but no doubt this will come in time. She's already talking to the animals on her mobile!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has much longer periods of wakefulness and attentiveness now, although her attention span is still very short. Annoyingly she will fight going to sleep after a feed only to fall asleep half-an-hour or so before her next feed, which means I get very little rest in between feeds. Thankfully she only does this during the day and sleeps fairly well during the night now.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LysngSFaS1M/TmSvZgXkteI/AAAAAAAAA5Y/e2we7N3K5Us/s800/J-Sleepsack.jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LysngSFaS1M/TmSvZgXkteI/AAAAAAAAA5Y/e2we7N3K5Us/s800/J-Sleepsack.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is starting to sleep in a sleep sack as she's just too active to wrap. She can unwrap herself within minutes, so we thought we'd better graduate her to the sleep sack. That way, at least she's covered and the wrap isn't hindering her movements/development.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Has somehow lost her feed routine! She now feeds anywhere between 3.5hrs to 6hrs (!), although 4 hrs does seem to be the average. According to the community nurse, 6 hours between feeds isn't an issue as she is still putting on weight, but it just stuffs up my milk supply, which is flakey at the best of times! LOL At least she's feeding well though and still takes both breast and bottle without issue. Sometimes she can be a bit slow in drinking from the bottle and ends up fussing because the formula has cooled down. We then have to go and warm it up for her before she'll drink again. Other times she'll drain the bottle so fast, the formula doesn't have a chance to cool down! LOL I think I might have to set up a routine rather than rely on her demand feeding. It might work better for all of us in the end - at least I'll get some decent rest!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9UNxHanbQHk/TmSvdA_-5VI/AAAAAAAAA5o/iJEop-VisoU/s800/J-SwingSeat.jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9UNxHanbQHk/TmSvdA_-5VI/AAAAAAAAA5o/iJEop-VisoU/s800/J-SwingSeat.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tolerates sitting in the swing seat now, and will even fall asleep in it.<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is really exercising her legs by kicking lots now. She loves to lie on her back kicking up a storm! It's so cute to watch her. Her arms are still flailing about seemingly uncontrollably. Her strength is definitely improving as she can pack quite a punch with those little fists of hers! I often sustain a wallop or two when she's breast feeding. LOL<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is wearing the larger of the size 0000 clothes, and even some size 000 clothes. It's sad to put away all the smaller items now as they were soooo cute and reminds me how fast she's growing!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yqiFvJltw0g/TmSvaJfuEmI/AAAAAAAAA5g/hAwWCJBl8Fw/s800/J-Smile.jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yqiFvJltw0g/TmSvaJfuEmI/AAAAAAAAA5g/hAwWCJBl8Fw/s800/J-Smile.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Smiles lots now, and often when she recognises our faces or our voices. She still smiles in her sleep, and it's so cute and sweet to watch her sleep. :D <br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Can suddenly start crying/screaming in her sleep. After a moment, she will go back to sleep, but it certainly gives us a scare as we wonder what distressed her so much. Must be nightmares?!?<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1Xq0diHqznc/TmSvc8lSMxI/AAAAAAAAA5c/FilsD6kH9k8/s800/J-TummyTime.jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1Xq0diHqznc/TmSvc8lSMxI/AAAAAAAAA5c/FilsD6kH9k8/s800/J-TummyTime.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Doesn't like tummy time. :( She'll tolerate it for about five seconds before staring to whinge. I have to give her tummy time in lots of 30 seconds each!<br />
<br />
</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is learning to suck her hands when hungry or needs a comfort suck. She's also starting to drool a bit and blowing drool bubbles - eech! LOL<br />
</span></li>
</ul><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">There are so many more changes and developments now as Jasmine gets older. It's hard to focus on all of them and I often fear I'll miss something. Kids certainly grow fast!<br />
<br />
This week Gus is back to work for good so I'm on my own again. Hopefully his hours won't be as long as when he was off on training two weeks ago, but still he will be spending at least 14 hours away from home. :( At least he will be getting some rest on the train!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-r6gPR0M01VY/TmSvYZOX9KI/AAAAAAAAA5U/f8GCri01lU0/s800/J-BowHeadband.jpg" target="_blank"><br />

I'll let you know how that goes!</span><br />

It was a very long and tiring day.<br />
<br />
However, yesterday I was reminded that in marriage, self-sacrifice works both ways and can be small - <i>like giving up the perfectly cooked sunny-side up egg and eating the ugly looking, messy egg at breakfast</i> - or big - <i>like enduring a whole afternoon with your wife's family and relatives when you have no idea what they're talking about because you don't speak Cantonese</i>!<br />
<br />
Today I have been no less exhausted unfortunately (in fact all three of us have been very tired and sleepy for some reason), but thankfully we had a whole day at home to do absolutely nothing but rest. Or try to! There was still something to learn today though, and that was the fact that Jasmine's very bowed legs and slightly turned feet are actually quite normal! I thought it was a genetic or racial trait as I have bowed legs too, like a lot of Asians! Whether or not her legs will straighten out will remain to be seen. Regardless though, I'm sure she will still be a tall girl like her mummy - her legs are already so long!!<br />
<br />
Wonder what lesson tomorrow will bring? :D<br />
<br />
*hugs*<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">PS. Sorry for the lack of photos. I have them, but it just seems like a bit too much effort today to download and prepare them for uploading to the web. With the way I'm feeling at the moment there's a huge possibility I might upload the wrong photo anyway!! LOL Maybe I'll make it up tomorrow. :D </span><br />

Hope you've been looking out for lots of things to learn!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.clker.com/clipart-analog-clock-warning.html" target="_blank"><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Today I learned (or more to the point, the lesson was very much reinforced) that when you have a baby, schedules, plans and "on time" no longer exist! Everything revolves around baby's feed time and right now, that's anytime between 3.5-5hrs. It takes immense planning to be somewhere at a certain time and trying to figure out if that time coincides with a feed or if we have to work around/between two feeds. The annoying thing is that it takes so long to feed, so an hour at the very least has to be taken into account when planning where to be and when. However, when we do spend the extra minute or so calculating our day, everything more or less works out to plan and it's smooth sailing for the whole day.<br />
<br />
Are you as bound by time as we seem to be? Or are you still free to flit about the day without any regard to what time of day it is?<br />
<br />

I did attempt this last year (<a href="http://winnitude.blogspot.com/search/label/LSNED" target="_blank">LSNED 2010</a>), but lost momentum by the third week. I'm not optimistic that I'll get very far this year either, especially with little Jasmine now on the scene, but I'll try and do as much as I can. For now I'll keep my learning to blog posts, but maybe one day I'll get my act together and make a mini-album. :D Or maybe I'll do it all digital...we'll see. With Gus back at work from next week, time is going to be very precious.<br />
<br />
So what did I learn today?<br />
<br />
Today I learned that due to Government incompetence, I may not be eligible for government assistance unless I give my baby up for adoption!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="[https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tYwqnKMDiUA/Tl9htxY44oI/AAAAAAAAA44/vou3YL9EDfA/s800/Day01-Form.jpg" target="_blank"><br />
<img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tYwqnKMDiUA/Tl9htxY44oI/AAAAAAAAA44/vou3YL9EDfA/s800/Day01-Form.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Major *FAIL* by the Australian Government. <br />
<br />
I have read and re-read the question a million times. If I have it wrong, please let me know!! I think someone needs to review this form. Mind you, like most government forms, it is so complex and confusing in the first place that I seriously doubt anyone in Government administration can figure it out any more than the general public!<br />
<br />
So that, with much sarcasm and shaking of the head, is what I learned today! LOL<br />
<br />
Are you participating in this class too? Let me know as I'd love to see what you're learning every day!<br />
<br />

He has been an awesome help and such a hands-on dad. Changing nappies, bottle preparation AND feeding and bath-time have all been his domain. Not to mention taking out the nappy bin!! Next week he goes back to work and I'll be all alone again and really missing him. I'm sure Jasmine will miss him too. Let's just hope that doesn't mean she will be too out-of-sorts for me from now on!<br />
<br />
I'm thankful today too for the pretty flowers that have popped up now that Spring has hit the Southern Hemisphere. Our cherry blossom is in full bloom, as is our little apricot tree and the flowers are gorgeous.
